CAPM&R Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Committee

Terms of Reference

The purpose of the CAPM&R CPD Committee is:

  1. to provide support to CAPM&R membership to allow full participation in the RCPSC Maintenance of Certification Program;

  2. to advise the Executive Committee on matters related to Maintenance of Certification requirements;

  3. to facilitate compliance within CAPM&R and it’s offered CPD activities with the Maintenance of Certification Program; and

  4. to provide Section 1 accreditation for other CME providers for the Royal College Maintenance of Certification program.

The Chair of the committee will report to the Executive Committee. An annual report at the Annual General meeting to the membership at large will also be standard. The Chair of the committee term of office is 3 years and Vice Chair will be identified at least one year prior to the end of the Chair’s term of office. It is also suggested that other member serve at least two years on the committee and that the recruitment of new membership be a staggered process. It is also recognised that cross representation to the Scientific Program, Education, Research, and Finance Committees should be maintained. The CPD Committee also requires National Representation.

Since the Maintenance of Certification Program is still in the development phases, the goals and objectives are to be reviewed yearly at the annual face to face meeting, which will occur at each Annual CAPM&R Meeting.
